Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it breaks the overnight fast and provides your body with essential nutrients and energy so you are able to last throughout the day. It is proven that people who skip breakfast are often more tired and restless than those who eat a healthy balanced breakfast everyday.  However, many of us, especially university students often skip this meal as we're always running late for class. However, running late doesn’t mean we have to skip out on the most important meal of the day.  Introducing breakfast smoothies! Breakfast smoothies are an extremely easy and quick way to get enough energy and nutrients to last you a whole day and you can even drink them as you're on your daily commute to work/uni. You can even make the process quicker by proportioning your fruits in a big Ziploc bag in advance and freezing them for up to 3 months.  Today I will share 2 of my favourite breakfast smoothie recipes! In one of our earlier posts ( https://c20wellbeing.blogspot.com.au/2017/09/what-does-it-mean-to-eat-healthy-and.html )  Keanu recommended some recipes for you guys to try and make at home which involved baking. Fitness Playlist 😎

Put in those headphones, keep your head up and don't let anything else bother you. Listen to your favourite music and give it your all.  The key to transform an intense, fat-burning workout to a fun sweat session that feels like an easy, everyday exercise, is to create the perfect workout playlist . During my workouts, I would always play my favourite music to keep my mind off things and focus on my body and myself. The list of songs in my phone are great from when I'm doing easy cardio exercises to intense, fat-burning workouts. Do you ever feel like this when listening to music and working out? Well it does for me! It blocks out all the surrounding nosies and lets me focus only on myself, motivating me and pushing me to my limits. I would like to share some of my favourite workout songs in my playlist with all of you! 1. Razihel - Love U (NCS Release) 2. JPB - High (NCS Release)  3.  Justin Bieber - Beauty and a Beast ft. Nicki Minaj 4. Marshmello...

Battle of the Salads: Soul Origin vs Sumo Salad

Image
What usually comes to mind first when a person thinks ‘healthy eating’? Salad! Salads are a great way to eat healthy while also being able to have a delicious meal and there are so many to choose from. Most salads, even those with only a few ingredients are enough to make for a meal rich in nutrition. Just the veggies itself contain calcium, iron, potassium, vitamins and antioxidants. Not only that, the vegetables in salads are great sources of fibre, keeping your digestive system healthy. Today, I have gone out and bought a basic chicken Caesar salad from both Sumo Salad and Soul origin and I will be comparing the two so you can get the best tasting salad for the best price! Both soul origin and sumo salad use the exact same ingredients with the only differences being that sumo salad uses grilled chicken and soul origin uses poached chicken and that sumo salad has a Caesar dressing, whereas soul origin had lime mayo. Our criteria will be: price, taste, presentation and healthin...

Focusing on Yourself

Image
"Are YOU okay?" Last week we discussed a quick overview of mental health and what it means to be mentally healthy.  Today we're going to zoom in and shift the focus on you.  A lot of people are so distracted by themselves in the bigger picture, such as in their social media landscape, they tend to forget, or lose regard for their own wellbeing. Many people become anxious without knowing, and when that happens regularly, one becomes accustomed to anxious feelings.  Focusing on yourself not only helps rid anxiety, but will improve your quality of life as you are more self aware of all that is happening.  Just like one should keep track of their diet and what they are ingesting, it's important to keep track of what material (such as media) you are exposing yourself to.  Here are some ways to do that: 1. Use journals  What are you grateful for? It helps to write, to empty negative thoughts and fill those with positive stat...
